Introduction to Emergency Management Systems
Part of the effective control of an emergency situation requires that a workplace’s fire safety systems are functioning and that systems for training and evacuations are planned, developed and used. This program is designed to provide you with practical information on workplace fire and emergency systems and evacuation techniques. Our facilitator will assist in creating discussion between participants leading towards compiling your own Emergency Management Plan. This program includes the ResponseWise Emergency Management Template to guide you through the planning and development of your workplace plan. The session delivers the following outcomes to its participants:
- Review of Principles of Fire
- Types of Emergencies
- Creating an Emergency Planning Committee
- Understand the Emergency Control Organisation Structure
- Understanding of Fire Safety systems in the building.
- Development of Emergency Procedures
Evacuation Training
In addition to your fire safety training and the drawing up of your emergency procedures it is important to practice. This is the most important part of the process and establishes that the newly drawn procedures are workable and meet the desired outcomes. This program allows for your workplace to conduct an evacuation drill under the watchful eye of a ResponseWise facilitator.
Fire Extinguisher Training
Usually ran to complement the Fire Awareness and Extinguisher Training theory training. This program gives the participants the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the portable firefighting equipment on site and use it in a “Hot Fire” situation. A valuable addition to your fire-training program this exposes the participants to the heat and smoke associated with a fire in safe and controlled surrounds.
All ResponseWise program participants leave with a certificate of attendance at the completion of our programs. We also offer assessments that are designed to ensure that participants have an understanding of the key learning points just taught.
We recommend that no more than 20 employees attend each program so that group discussion and interaction can take place in a controlled manner and the Presenter can give each employee the attention they require on any queries they may have. If you wish to training more than 20 employees, we will run multiple sessions, this provides for the least interruption to the everyday running of the business and fit in with shift workers etc.
